The first time I climbed this mountain, when I reached the summit I looked out over the glorious Hudson Valley and felt this tremendous sense of accomplishment because against all expectations I’d beat my doctor’s predictions. I know there was a sunset out there somewhere, but the view of ridgelines receding into stormcloud was pretty impressive all the same.
